Herbals have found a new place in our culture. On Saturday, October 22 from 11 AM-1 PM, deepen your knowledge and connection with the healing energy of plants...
Tisanes, teas made with herbs, flowers or fruit, have a wide range of tastes and astounding array of medicinal properties. In this workshop, you will learn about the flavor characteristics and health benefits of herbal "teas" ... all caffeine-free, organic and delicious. Come discover a wealth of information about growing, harvesting, blending tisanes naturally. Led by Sandi Coppola, owner of Sperry Herb Farm in East Haven CT, participants will explore simple ways of adding herbs into daily nutrition through cooking and using herbs to help heal and/or nourish us in times of illness. This workshop will be hands-on with each type of herbal blend available to sniff in its dry form and taste in its brewed form. Tastings of four different tisanes will be served, all made from organically-grown herbs from Sperry Farm such as licorice, lemon grass and calendula flowers. Participants receive a gift bag of healing herbal lotions to take home. In addition, sample Sperry Farm's all-natural skin care and aromatherapy products made from fresh herbs and flowers! Please bring a journal or notebook. Join us after the workshop at 1 PM for a Harvest Luncheon. |
