Opening to Awareness

Class 1 ... 1/17/17
Mindfulness is moment-by-moment awareness...  the process of attentively observing your experience as it unfolds. Because we’re not judging our experiences as right or wrong, mindfulness also has a high degree of openness, receptivity, and inquisitiveness.

A Beginner's Mind

Class 3 ... 1/31/17

Relaxing attachments to thoughts and learning to live with uncertainty are part of beginner's mind - or the practice of not-knowing. Meditative practice makes it possible to attain a clearer, more holistic way of thinking where the true nature of a situation is more readily apparent.

Focusing Our Attention

Class 2 ... 1/24/17
The breath acts as an anchor focusing attention in our body. Attending to the rhythms of breathing as we inhale and exhale brings profound calmness. Our breath is always present and something to which we can return again and again— no matter where we are.

Acceptance & Release

Class 4 ... 2/7/17
To be embodied means to be susceptible to pain. Mindfulness practice is a way to teach ourselves how to accept life as it is. Because pain or discomfort is sometimes an inevitable part of life, learning to respond in a grounded, centered way is essential to embracing life more fully.
